It's a happy dance!!

It's finished! I put the final stitches into QS Dragonfly early this morning. I wasn't sure I was going to make it to the end for a bit there with all the confetti I had left but I did it one stitch at a time and finished around 1:30 this morning. And here it is...

QS Dragonfly

This is HAED's QS Dragonfly based on the artwork by Jessica Galbreth. I started this one 12/31/06 and finished 10/21/07. It is stitched 1 over 1 on 28 count evenweave using the suggested DMC. The finished design is pretty close to 5x7 and contains 29,100 stitches! I think I'm going to keep away from the over 1 for a few days and let my eyes recover!

It's been an exciting weekend around here- we also went furniture shopping yesterday and picked out some living room furniture complete with a huge overstuffed chair (the store calls it a chair and a half) with a storage ottoman. Yay! That means I will have a spot to stitch in the living room with lots of light from the windows and I can listen to audiobooks while I stitch again. Since we rearranged furniture last spring I've only had a spot to stitch in the family room which is in the basement and has no windows. Oh, and we also got a kitched table and chairs. We weren't really looking for that yet but we found the perfect thing to fit in the odd sized space available. Now we just have to return the fabric swatches to the store and tell them our choices then wait the 8-10 weeks for delivery. I guess it'll be a nice Christmas present:)

Wooohooo, congrats on your HD Sara!! It turned out beautifully! Are you going to frame it?

I've always wanted a chair and a half. It seems like the perfect chair to curl up and stitch in. I like the idea of a storage ottoman for it, too!

Congratulation on the fantastic HD and the new furniture! I'd love to have a real chair to curl up in and stitch. Maybe someday!
