April TUSAL

It's ort report time again and I have a blue/green mixture to share this month.
TUSAL 4/3/11

More TUSAL 4/3/11
This month's orts come from (surprise!) Hydrangea Pillow and my giveaway prizes which are about 3/4 of the way done now that I've gotten my floss order. My goal is to have them out by Easter more or less, always dependant on stitching time and a certain toddler's behavior. My original plan was to include a scan of Hydrangea Pillow too but my scanner has other ideas today so that will have to wait until it is in a better mood. Life's been busy as always around here. Joshua had tubes put into his ears last Thursday which has resulted in dramatic improvements in his speech. It used to be that he'd repeat things eventually but now he's trying to repeat everything we say which is great most of the time. Not that our language is toddler inappropriate but sometimes things come out in interesting times:) And he sings too. So far we've got the Hot Dog Song for those familiar with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse which is of course the best show ever according to Josh and sometimes a little Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star too. I'm so glad we've done this for him now rather than wait and see what happens. The difference is amazing and it's only been a couple of days. Off to enjoy a few hours of quiet time while Josh is entertaining his grandparents this afternoon. Happy stitching!

Good job on your orts! All three of my children had tubes put in their ears, and it made a great deal of difference for al of them.

Our youngest DD had speech issues as a result of continuous fluid in her ears as a toddler. She had tubes at 16 months. Speech therapist later told us that if we had not done the tubes when we did, she would likely have been significantly speech-delayed and her impediment would have been more severe (likely not completely reversable). Sometimes doctors don't know all the other issues aside from the direct health/medical ramifications. It's such a simple procedure and can do so much for them. I hope Josh continues to flourish with his "burst" of language!

Glad to hear the tubes are working! Can't wait to see the hydrangeas again (send positive vibes to the scanner)

Yeah for improvement! Now just remember when the tubes find their way out he will probably want to take them to show and tell so don't throw them away! (I can still remember mine coming out at 7 and asking Mom where it was and being sad that I couldn't take it to show & tell!)

Gorgeous orts! Can't wait to see the Hydrangea Pillow finished.
