Happy Birthday

To me! The internet's back and I consider that an early birthday present. I didn't realize how much I use the home computer until the internet went down. We actually bought the computer a present in honor of it working properly again- a wireless router so now we can have the Wii and PS3 online too. Haven't had time to really try it out yet but eventually we'll get a weekend off work!

Tomorrow is indeed my birthday, the big 3-0 as my mother and several other people have been so kind to point out. In celebration of that I intend to take the day off work, put in a decent sized order at Stitching Bits & Bobs before their sale ends, and enjoy a nice dinner out at a local steakhouse and movie with Erich. Past that, no plans and that's fine with me.

I'm slowly uploading and editing the pics on my camera now that most of the family has seen them and I've got them all backed up properly. The Russia pics are still coming but I have some of the stitching ones done so I have for you today a few of my last stitching accomplishments in 2009.

Kaleidoscope 12/28/09

I finally finished Kaleidoscope by Ink Circles. I stitched it over 2 on 36ct Stone linen from Crossed Wing. Started on 5/16/08 and finished 12/28/09. I'm hoping to either find or convince someone (like my Dad) to custom build me a box with place to insert this into the lid. That was my intention when I started it and I'm still looking for a good box to buy but no such luck yet.

I also got a few gifts framed right at the end of the year- TW's English Garden Welcome for my Mom's birthday and L&L's Celtic Noel for my Grandma's Christmas gift. Stitching's been done on them for awhile now, just never got around to the framing part.

Celtic Noel framed 12/09

House of Stitches in Laporte did the framing for me and I was very happy with their work. I didn't want anything too fancy for either one that would outshine the needlework or would look out of place in my mother and grandmother's homes.

That's it for now, thanks for all the well wishes and good thoughts. Haven't made much progress with the adoption paperwork in the past couple weeks because of the holidays (today is Russian Orthodox Christmas) but hopefully things will start moving again next week and we'll start getting good news again.

I love your ink circles finish - good luck finding that box! Great framing jobs too - I did Celtic Christmas a while back, and opted for a similar, simple frame.

And last but not least, have a wonderful birthday

Happy Birthday tomorrow! And if your Mom teases you too much about 30 - remind her she's now old enough to have a 30yr old daughter. ;)

Great stitching all around!
