Just to prove that I do still stitch...

...I present proof, in a minute anyway:)

I just want to say thank you to everyone for the support and kind thoughts while we're going through this tough adoption situation. We're still sad about Ben but we are doing better and have taken our next steps forward a little early. We received our new referral this week and are quite taken with him. No pictures to post for quite awhile yet but I can assure you he is an adorable little boy and in no way feels like a substitute for Ben. No name ideas yet, we'll have to think on that. His Russian name would stand out quite a bit so we'll likely rename him and try to incorporate his name into a middle name. We're waiting for the final word from our international doctor and will hear from her Monday afternoon. After that we plan to formally accept his referral and will get in line for a trip date to go meet him. The agency says to plan on December to January so we'll be treated to winter in Russia. That'll teach us not to brag about missing the snow! Which reminds me, I probably ought to buy a good coat and some boots.

And I promised stitching so here it is. These first few are WIP pics of a few projects I've had out recently.

First up is Skeleton Crew. This one is a lot of fun but I'm stuck on what color to do the moon in. The green DMC that is recommended (472 I think) just doesn't look right on the fabric I've chosen so I'm a little torn on what to sub.

Ink Circles is up next. This is the one I'm currently working on and I love the bright colors in it.

And finally, my current big HAED project. This is Dragon Moon and I'm excited to show off something besides various shades of blue! I finally got up to the edge of the moon and the dragon's wing. All the tiny over 1 stitching was starting to get to me though so I've put it down for awhile but it will be back in rotation again soon.

That's about it for now. Hopefully I'll be back next week with more good news!

I love Skeleton Crew so much.

As to the moon... maybe a nice silvery gray? A nice touch would be to add a strand of silver or gray blending filament to the dmc too.

It's good to hear you're healing. My thoughts have been with you (even if the posts are few).

My suggestion of the moon is DMC 712. I think it would be a nice match to your fabric withou being too stark.
