TWCOE Ornies and an EGW Update

Lots of pics to share with you today! First off, I received both of my ornaments from the TWCOE, an ornament exchange going on at the Teresa Wentzler Bulletin Board. They're lovely and will have places of honor on my tree this year. Thanks so much ladies and hope you enjoy the ornies you received in return. Sorry for the poor scans, it's the best I can do til we get a real digi-cam.

The first one is from Anu and is really cool because it's stitched with glow-in-the-dark DMC. I tried it out and it looks really neat in the dark. Can't wait to see it on the tree! The design is Debbie's ornament from Chen designs and Anu stitched it on Annabelle fabric. She gave it some sparkly Kreinik cording and a sparkly tassle and a pretty floral backing fabric.

The second one is from Penny and it's a beautiful hardanger heart with a lovely gold fabric underneath and as backing. The gold fabric really complements the design as does the gold cording used as a hanger which my scanner blurred badly. I really love the poinsettia in the middle of the heart.

As promised I've got some updated scans of my own stitching too. I've made some really good progress on my English Garden Welcome from my last scan. As you can see, I'm done with the border now...

...and I've backstitched the over-one "Welcome." I'm glad to be done with that. I can only concentrate on over-one so long before I have to put it down.

So, now I can finally focus on the center design which is filling in pretty quickly even though it is a lot of blended thread.

The border just seemed to drag on forever so now it feels like a treat to stitch the middle. I'm still pretty excited about this WIP so I'll try to stick with it and see if I can finish it before the end of the year. I'd really like to have one more finish for 2006 and I think I've got a good shot with this one.

I'm hoping to get some good stitching time in tomorrow as I don't work until the afternoon shift and the weather's supposed to be pretty crappy. The weatherman is saying freezing rain that'll turn into snow tonight and not much better for tomorrow. I can hear the rain on the roof now and am glad to be home for the night. Blech! Can't we skip straight to Spring? I love my snow on Christmas Day but could easily live without it the rest of the winter.

The ornaments are beautiful! Maybe I'll plan on doing some next year. They'll look beautiful on the tree!

Thanks for the comments about the new look. I did want to mention regarding your blogroll issue, that you could try and create another blogroll and see if that one too has the same problem. You can have multiple blogrolls on the same blog. If that one works, you can use that one instead. I do think the problem is with your blogroll, and not template code. Make sure that there aren't any linebreaks when you enter the ** characters.

You got some really pretty ornaments in the exchange! I wish I could do more exchanges. I'll have to start early for next year! ;-)
