Has it really been a month??

So sorry for the lack of posting recently. I didn't mean to be away quite so long but a combination of family drama, adoption drama, nice weather, a broken wedding ring, a sinus infection, and a car accident have kept me a little busier than I would normally like to be. I'm okay and my ring is too. The ring got caught in the drive thru window at work and was bent so badly I was fearful it wouldn't come off but I did eventually get it off and a local jeweler has done a fantastic job of restoring it. The car accident is going to take a little longer to get over. Josh and I got rear ended last week and the car and my son came out fine but I jammed my bad shoulder and the pain is not going away. Even worse it feels a lot like it did a few years ago when I had problems with it so looks like I'm probably facing another round of treatment for that. At least the other driver was insured so her policy will be picking up the tab this time.

Probably hasn't helped my blogging that the Easter Bunny stuck George R. R. Martin's A Game of Thrones in my basket either. Finished it yesterday and can't wait to start the next one but I'm going to try to pace myself. No promises though as my wonderful husband suggested I buy myself an early Mother's Day present- an iPad 3! I've been wanting an e-reader for awhile and finally decided on the iPad since we already have a large iTunes account and like the idea of being able to transfer apps and media back and forth. Plus it will give me another lightweight form of entertainment to take when we head back to Russia later this year (no word, just figuring our first trip will happen sometime in the second half of 2012 based on the way adoption things seem to be moving).

Anyway, now that you're all caught up (assuming anyone is still checking this poor, neglected blog) I do owe a WIPocalypse post and you shall have it either later today or tomorrow. I love the iPad but my laptop is still easier to use when dealing with pics. I haven't gotten quite as much stitching in as I'd like lately but I do have a little progress to show.
